KHQA VIEWING AREA -- UPDATE June 17 at 5:15 am

We start out this morning again with road notices from around the area.

The good news is that there are less of them than there were earlier in the week.

First in Clark county....the following roads are still closed...NN, F, P and the 61 at Alexandria.

And in Hancock County.....Water Street and New Warsaw Road are still closed.

 

 

UPDATE June 16 at 10:20 am

The following roads are closed in Warsaw, IL due to flooding and mud slides: Water Street (flooding of Mississippi and mud slides), 6th and Harrison Street at LeClaire Street (washed out), New Warsaw Road (due to more mud slides hopefully will open next week if there is no more rain).  The Old Warsaw Road at Highway 96 is open.

UPDATE June 16 at 7:30 am

Rising flood waters have crossed Bonnansinga drive at Bob Bangert Park. The Road has been closed and barricaded. Police warn you not to remove or go around the barricades.

UPDATE June 16 at 4:30 am

We do have a few road notices to pass on to you again for Thursday morning.

In Hancock County....both  New Warsaw road and Water street are still closed because of mudslides.

In Clark County.... Routes D, NN, F & P and US 61 at Alexandria are all  still closed.
But both the North and Southbound lanes of US 27 in Clark County are open.

In Hannibal....The following streetsm south of Warren Barrett Driver are  all closed.. Ely, South 6th and South 7th.
Also drivers need to watch out for water on Sycamore, Monroe and Jefferson streets.

Illinois  336 is now open as of 6am Wednesday morning

 

UPDATE: June 15 at 3:51 am

We have some more road updates to pass on to you this morning.

We start in Clark County where the following roads are closed due to flooding.

Routes D, K, NN, AA, F &P are all closed.

Also 27 and 136 Southbound lanes are open to semi-traffic only.

And the 61 and Alexandria bypass into Keokuk is also closed.

In Hancock County.... I 336 between  Carthage and Macomb is closed.

Many of the city streets in Carthage are also closed because of flooding and drivers are urged to use extreme caution in low lying areas.

In Scotland County, Missouri..... Route H near Snake Lake has also been closed.

In McDonough County....Highway 136 is flooded going both east and west of Macomb.

And in Schuyler County... There are concerns about hydroplaning on U.S. 67 ( 3/10ths of a mile south of Log Cabin Road) that area is also 1 mile south of 67/ Route 101 Junction.

Out of Des Moines, the Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division (HSEMD) continues to work closely with personnel from the Iowa National Guard, Department of Human Services, Department of Public Safety, Department of Transportation, Department of Natural Resources and other agencies as appropriate at the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) in response to the flooding situation in Western Iowa.  SEOC is staffed daily from 7:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.

UPDATED: June 14 at 10:15 a.m.

Hannibal Emergency Management Director John Hark says the city will drop all five of the flood gates this afternoon. The river is expected to crest around 20 feet Thursday.

UPDATED: June 14 at 8:34 a.m.

We have reports that part of the Paloma blacktop road has collapsed.  Tegan Orpet is talking with a road commissioner and will have more information to pass along to you.  A pipe underneath the road just south of JR's repair.  Commissioners estimate the road will be closed the rest of the summer.

She also has a report of a bridge out east of Scottie's Skateland on Highway 104 toward Liberty.  There is a subdivision just past the storage sheds, and there is a back hoe trying to remove bridge debris.

Clark County: Closed: Routes A, D and the main road through Wyaconda. 27 southbound by Exit 136 ( the Wayland exit) is down to 1 lane. Fox river rose 12 feet from midnight to 5 a.m. Cautions for Routes NN and AA.

UPDATED: June 14 at 7:30 a.m.

Hancock County Flooding: Water over roadways i many areas. Bluff Road S of Warsaw to Adams County line is under water. Mudslide on Warsaw road past brewery. Hwy 96 standing water in several areas. Hwy 61 between Bowen and Augusta has standing water. Black Top 250N West on Bowen has standing water in several spots. Blacktop 400N from IL336 to West Point has standing water in several spots. The Hancock County Sheriff's urge caution when traveling today. Any additional rainfall could cause additional flooding.

Because of the heavy rain overnight here are a few places in the KHQA viewing area that drivers need to be cautious of Tuesday morning.

In Adams County...we have reports of flooding on Rock Quarry road, east of Scotties and at the Viaduct on 94.

In Clark County Missouri... We have no official report of flooding but drivers are urged to use caution on Route B because it  is a regular place for high water.

Also in Clark County we have reports of several flooded basements because of sewer systems backing up.

And in Van Buren County Iowa we have reports that the Van Buren Sheriff's department has posted high water signs  south of Highway 2.
