Experimental Aircraft Association gets kids in the air

QUINCY, ILL. -- It was a morning full of pancakes, sausage and airplanes at the Quincy Regional Airport on Sunday (6/19).

The Quincy Chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association held their annual Father's Day Fly In Breakfast.

Visitors came in for a breakfast and some kids got the chance to take a ride in a plane.

This breakfast is the primary fundraiser for the year for the EAA.

Money raised at the event goes to support the Young Eagle's Program.

That is a national program that gets kids up for their first flight.

"Our goal is to get them up, get them to see the world a little differently, let them know that the sky is not the limit," said EAA Quincy Chapter President Andrew Skattebo.

The EAA has been putting on the Fathers Day Fly In Breakfast for more than 30 years.

It was originally held at the Taylor Airport, but for the last few years has been in Quincy.
