JACKSONVILLE, ILL. -- Sgt. Andrew R. Tobin, 24, of Jacksonville, Ill. and formerly of Manteno, Ill. and Woodland Hills, CA lost his life while serving his country in the Kandahar Province, Afghanistan.

Funeral services were held for Sgt. Andrew Tobin in Jacksonville Monday.

More than two hundred of the riders and fellow soldiers led the funeral procession for this fallen soldier down Morton Avenue in Jacksonville.

Sgt. Tobin was born in California and attended MacMurray College. That's where he met his wife Katie.  His funeral procession circled the college's campus, where they fell in love.

Sgt. Tobin enlisted in the army in 2008. He was serving in his second tour of duty in Afghanistan when he was killed in the line of duty.

According to his family, Sgt Tobin was outgoing and always had this smile on his face. Like many guys, he enjoyed target shooting and grilling out.

People here say Sgt. Tobin was loved for who he was..and what he was - as an American soldier. It was a solemn homecoming as thousands of people lined the procession route holding flags and signs, paying their final respects to their beloved hometown hero.

Sgt. Andrew Tobin was laid to rest in Asbury Cemetery in Jacksonville.

Then the procession will turn south onto Woods Lane and later McKean Road and Asbury Road to the location of Asbury Cemetery.
