One person taken to Blessing with minor injuries

QUINCY, ILL. -- A man is in police custody Sunday evening after firing a gun shot outside a bar in Quincy.

Witnesses outside of Buddy's bar told police Justin Cowan shot toward the ground, when a bullet fragment struck bystander John Schlueter in the leg.

The bar's patrons subdued Cowen until police arrived on scene. Both Cowen and Schlueter were transported to Blessing Hospital with minor injuries.

Cowen faces aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, reckless discharge of a firearm, aggravated assault and stalking.
