Two former Keokuk, Ia. residents were murdered in Tulsa, Ok. Monday morning. Carisa Horton, 18, and Ethan Nichols, 21, were seemingly just strolling through Hicks Park in Tulsa, Oklahoma Sunday night when they were ambushed, shot and left for dead.

Police called the double-homicide an "execution-style killing" when they spoke with Jerry Wofford and Jarrel Wade of Tulsa World newspaper. Click here to read the entire story.

The victims were found at around 10:45 a.m. Monday as a couple walked their dog. Both had gunshot wounds to the head.

After the Nichols family called in a missing person report, police discovered that a vehicle also reported missing had been taken from the scene of the crime.

Police located the vehicle later, and watched two male suspects get in and drive away. As police attempted to pull the car over, the suspects fled and finally crashed the car. They were apprehended after a short foot chase.

One of the two suspects apprehended was released, but Darren Price, 19, was arrested with the victims' cell phones in his possession. Futher information led to the arrest of 21-year-old Jerard Dwaine Davis. Davis was located in a nearby apartment complex and the police report states that a 9mm pistol in Davis' bathroom was "consistent with the two 9mm shell casings recovered from the crime scene."

Both are charged with first-degree murder and robbery.

Daily Gate City's Megan Spees reports that Ethan Nichols, 21, and his parents Scott and Theresa Nichols moved to Tulsa several months ago when Scott, a former Keokuk City Council member, got a job in the area. Ethan graduated from Keokuk High School in 2008 and also attended Southeastern Community College.

Carissa Horton, 18, was a freshman at ORU, a Christian college in Tulsa, according to a statement issued by university President Mark Rutland. She would have turned 19 next week. Horton completed her K-12 education through home schooling.
