Sleep can come at a premium for a lot of Americans, but there are some foods you can eat that will help you get more shut eye.

Here is the story you voted for our Facebook Story of the Day.

Instead of reaching for medicines to make you fall asleep, raid the kitchen pantry, but watch what you grab.

Nutritionists says a snack within an hour of bedtime that has carbohydrates and tryptophan can boost the serotonin levels in your body.

Serotonin helps you sleep.

You'll recognize tryptophan from many of the foods eaten around the holidays. Items like turkey, heated milk, baked potatoes with skin, beans, rice and roasted pumpkin seeds contain the amino acid.
