QUINCY, ILL. -- A Quincy woman has been cited for her part in a boat crash that left a Quincy man missing in the Mississippi River for more than a month now.

Conservation Police have issued a citation to Carol O'Connell for Careless Operation of a Watercraft.

Police say O'Connell was driving the boat that hit John Flaiz's boat, near Hogback Island, not far from Quincy on Aug 27th.

Flaiz has been missing in the water since the crash. Search boats with the Quincy Volunteer Emergency Corps are still continuing the search.

Police say Flaiz's boat did not have working lights at the time of the crash.

If convicted, O'Connell faces up to a $1,500 fine and/or six months in jail.
