QUINCY, ILL. -- Some local high school juniors and seniors took time out to look towards their future Tuesday evening.

John Wood Community College hosted a free college preparation program for high school students and parents.

The program focused on not only selecting a college, but also preparing for the transition to college.

JWCC Director of Admissions Lee Wibbell said, "Tonight is an opportunity for families to come out and learn more about the college selection process."

Area high school students will have another opportunity to prepare for college later this month.

The Quincy Area ICE Fair will take place Wednesday, October 19th at 6:30 p.m. at John Wood Community College.

Sixty-five colleges will be on hand for the event.
