QUINCY, ILL. -- The Quincy City Council Monday night voted for a resolution to support a concealed carry handgun law.

Illinois is the only state in the country that does not allow you to carry concealed firearms.

Fifth Ward Alderman Mike Rein says that's unconstitutional.

The resolution passed Monday night does not change the law.

It simply shows that the city council would support legislation to allow concealed carry rights.

The president of the local American Postal Workers union also spoke to the city council about the possible closure of the Quincy Processing and Distribution facility.

Vaughn Harshman, president of the American Postal Workers Union Local 77, said, "Locally, it's going to be millions of dollars out of this local area's economy and that matters."

You have a chance to voice your concerns about closing the Quincy postal facility Tuesday night.

The U.S. Postal Service will hold a public meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at John Wood Community College.

The U.S. Postal Service says comments from employees and the public will be considered before any decision is made.
