MONROE CITY, MO. -- Last spring, college students from across the nation were called upon to create an original pack design for Orbit gum's latest gum flavor, Melon Remix.

Eight winning designs total were chosen.

One of those winners is Monroe City resident Emily Herron.

She is a junior Journalism student at the University of Missouri.

Her pack design was inspired by the bright and vibrant colors of the Melon Remix gum flavor, which reminded her of the summer season.

She received a five-thousand dollar cash prize and will get to see her design and personal signature featured on-pack when the Melon Remix gum packs hit store shelves.
