QUINCY, ILL. -- Are you a tech savvy shopper or a smart phone user?
Keeping up with today's technology can sometimes make you want to check out. Your local Hy-Vee stores want to make it easier on you, especially when it comes to that long list of groceries.
We've all been there; you're at a store with an unfamiliar layout and you don't have time to spare. There's an app for that.
"If you're unable to search for a product, you can just search for it in your phone and it will take you to the right aisle," said Laura Frese, a registered Hy-Vee dietician
The free app known as "aisle411" is out for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. It requires iOS 4.3 or later.
"It can really streamline shopping and make it easier and quicker, and make your life simpler," said Frese.
Some of the aisle411 features include:
- A product locator
- View weekly ads
- Create a shopping list on the go
- Store locator
- Search recipes (and add ingredients to your shopping list)
- View Hy-Vee via Social Media
- Shop different Hy-Vee departments all from your phone
- Sign up for NOWWOWS (coupons)
- Ability to check a gift card balance
