HANNIBAL, MO. -- The Mark Twain Museum in Hannibal celebrates a big milestone this year.

According to the Hannibal Courier Post, May will mark 100 years since the museum opened to the public.

Back in 1912 it was comprised of only the boyhood home of Mark Twain.

Now the museum boasts nine properties for viewing.

Celebrations including speakers and musicians are slated to kick off the ceremony May 15, the exact day the museum was dedicated in 1912.
