CARTHAGE, ILL. -- A former Hamilton School Board has been found guilty of sexually abusing a minor.
Tri-States Public Radio reports that 44-year-old August Dion Gregory waived his right to a jury trial.
That prompted a stipulated bench trial Monday morning before a judge.
Gregory faces up to three years in prison, one year of parole, and a $25,000 fine.
He will be sentenced May 18th.
Gregory will be allowed to remain free on bond up until the sentencing, with a couple of conditions.
He will be able to continue living in Iowa, where he has been since he posted bail in December and he must not have any contact with children below the age of 18.
Gregory resigned from the Hamilton School Board following his arrest.
