Hamilton man arrested on meth charges

HAMILTON, ILL. -- A Hamilton, Illinois man is in jail on multiple methamphetamine charges.

Hamilton police arrested 47-year-old Garland Scott Treadwell Thursday on a warrant for failure to appear, for a retail theft. It was then that officers found an active meth lab in an abandoned building that Treadwell had been using to make the illegal drug.

Treadwell remains in the Hancock County jail on 4 drug-related charges including unlawful possession of methamphetamine, unlawful participation in methamphetamine manufacturing, unlawful possession or storage of methamphetamine manufacturing material and unlawful possession of methamphetamine precursor.

Treadwell's bond is set at $150,000.
