QUINCY, ILL. -- Bright colors and decorative hats marked one community get together on Saturday afternoon.

The "Rainbow Tea" serves as one of the larger fundraisers for the Martha K. Majors club.

Members celebrated with rainbow colored food and drink, live music, and a speaker.

The female club is named after the first African American police officer in Quincy.

"We have scholarships for the youth, and camp funds. Where ever there are needs, we're there. We take people to the doctor if they need a ride to the doctor. We sit at the hospital with the patients family," Helen Bumbry, president of the Martcha K. Majors club said.

The organization has been around since 1932 to promote education and service in the community.
