JACKSONVILLE, ILL. -- The Jacksonville Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred sometime over the weekend.

Sunday morning, officers responded to Passavant Area Hospital in reference to a shooting victim.

According to the Jacksonville Journal Courier, a male allegedly shot 34-year-old Marcus A. Robles once in the lower abdomen or upper thigh with a handgun. The shooting took place in the 600 block of Brandywine Lane in the Northwood Mobile Home Park. A police department press release added that the two men know each other.

During the investigation it was believed the suspect was hiding in a trailer near the same location of the shooting. The Jacksonville Special Response Team was called to the scene and made entry. The suspect was not located.

Robles was transported to Memorial Hospital in Springfield for non-life threatening injuries.
