The story of Baby Ella Cain is not over.

As the little girl continues to recover from her injuries, the two men credited with saving her life have been honored for their bravery.

Justin Twadle and Lt. Eric Becks were recognized with Illinois' highest honor at a special ceremony in Springfield.

Both men received the Firefighter Medal of Honor for rescuing the little girl from a house fire in January.

Lt. Eric Becks says the recognition is a humbling experience.

" When you go into firefighting or even like I said, when we went home that day, I never dreamt we'd still be being honored, months later or to this level," Becks said. "So it's a great honor that you never expect to get."

Justin Twaddle is also surprised to have been honored for just doing his job.

"It's just a really awesome experience to be here. And it's awesome to be part of the tradition of the fire service and the Quincy fire department and the whole state of Illinois," He said.

Twaddle and Becks are the first Quincy firefighters to receive the Medal of Honor from the Illinois State Fire Marshall.

Baby Ella is continuing to recover at home with her family.

Two Quincy firefighters will receive the state's highest honor for firefighters at a ceremony scheduled for Thursday.

Justin Twaddle and Lt. Eric Becks will be awarded the Firefighter Medal of Honor in a special ceremony at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield.

The firefighters are being honored for their actions on Jan. 3, 2012 when they rescued Ella Cain from a house fire at 303 Ohio St.

The two firefighters are the first members of the department to receive the Medal of Honor from the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal.
