Puckering up for Tri-state trumpeter gets big time attention

MACOMB, ILL. -- A Tri-State trumpeter is getting international attention when he puckers up.

According to the Hancock County Journal-Pilot, the International Trumpet Guild has selected Chris Haas from Western Illinois University as one of three finalists in its 2012 Orchestral Excerpts Competition.

He'll perform next week in the finals held in Georgia

Haas began playing the trumpet in the third grade and graduated from Nauvoo-Colusa High School. Click here to read more in the Hancock County Journal-Pilot.
