The Marion County Water District is asking its customers around rural Philadelphia, Mo. and beyond to conserve water until further notice as the water towers are not filling up to capacity at this time.
Also over in the Hickory Kerton Water Co-Op, customers in Rushville, Ill. are asked to conserve water until further notice.
Due to high demand and the heat, there is low pressure throughout that water district
Customers should not to fill pools, wash cars, water their gardens and only do laundry as needed.
About 900 customers are affected in the Hickory Kerton Water Co-Op.
Meanwhile David Carroll, who is the manager of the Marion County Public Water Supply District #1,said his district is using up to 500,000 gallons of water a day.
"We can't find any problems and the usage is just increased and we've had to move some sources of water around to keep everyone going. If everybody can conserve I believe we'll pull through this," Carroll said.
