BOWLING GREEN, MO. -- Here's a reminder that a major highway shutdown begins Monday in Pike County, Missouri.

Missouri Department of Transportation plans to replace two bridges along an 11-mile span of Highway 54 between Louisiana and Bowling Green.  When that happens, the portion of Highway 54 between the towns will be closed to through traffic.

Due to construction, drivers will have to use this detour on Route UU and Route NN.  Click here to see the map of the detour.

The first is just around a curve from the Cozy C Campground near Bowling Green, with a construction timetable of June 18th to August Seventh.

The second is west of the All Parts plant near Louisiana. It will be out of service from June 25th to August Fourth.

Meanwhile, Louisiana and Clarksville will lose a major southern arterial route when Highway 79 closes July 15th for a bridge replacement at Foley. The road is not expected to re-open until October First.

Highway 54 will be re-opened when construction is completed in early August.
