Trial date set in Keokuk murder case

KEOKUK, IOWA -- The Keokuk man charged with murdering his mother is scheduled for trial on July 10.

Adam Pitman, 23, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of his mother, 46-year-old Rosa Pitman.

Rosa Pitman was found dead in her home Aug. 30 of last year. Adam Pitman was stopped by Fort Madison police a short time later.

Investigators said that he admitted to killing his mother.

An investigator revealed that Rosa Pitman died after being strangled with an electrical cord.

The trial is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on July 10 at the South Lee County Courthouse in Keokuk.
