LAPLATA, MISSOURI -- A Moberly, Missouri man was injured Wednesday morning when a semi and a train collided near LaPlata.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash happened when William Swetnam, 59, was driving his tractor-trailer rig southwest of LaPlata going westbound on Indiana Place.

The patrol says Swetnam apparently drove in front of the oncoming train. The train struck the passenger side of the truck.

Swetnam was flown by Air-Evac, to University Hospital in Columbia. No word on his condition is available as of yet.

KTVO in Kirksville, Missouri contributed to this story.
