PLEASANT HILL, ILL. -- The Pike County, Illinois man accused of cutting apart an old Mississippi River barge for scrap metal is expected to plea his case Monday.

Thirty-two-year-old Jeremy McKinnon of Pleasant Hill is charged with felony property damage and theft.

Authorities in Pike County, Missouri allegedly caught McKinnon in the act of using a torch to cut pieces off the barge about four miles south of Clarksville.

Two other men loading the scrap metal were not charged in the theft.
