A Pike County, Ill. man entered a plea in a case that saw him accused of cutting apart a river barge for scrap metal.

Jeremy McKinnon of Pleasant Hill was originally charged with felony property damage and theft. He entered a plea to a Class B misdemeanor charge of first-degree property damage.

A Pike County, Mo. judge sentenced him to two years of supervised probation and ordered him to pay more than $10,000 in restitution.

Authorities arrested McKinnon near Clarksville, Mo. They caught him in the act of using a torch to cut pieces from the barge.

Two other men loading the scrap metal into an awaiting truck were not charged.
