Gun arrest follows late-night dispute

QUINCY, ILL. -- A Quincy man is behind bars after he brandished a handgun during a dispute.

Leroy Howard is charged with possession of a firearm by felon.

Officers were called at about 10:20 p.m. to the area of 4th and Oak streets to investigate the report of a person with a gun.

Several witnesses told police that Howard displayed a gun and threatened a number of people, a press release from the Quincy Police Department said.

He was arrested a short time later and taken to the Adams County Jail.
