Replaces Dr. Lora Wolff
KEOKUK, IOWA -- After a lengthy search, the Keokuk Community School District Board of Education announced Thursday night that it has selected a new superintendent.
The school district held community forums, held an online survey and met with staff the determine the qualities the district was looking for in a new leader.
A pool of 190 people was eventually whittled down to 6 potential candidates.
Tim Hood, the current superintendent of the Creston Communty School District was was selected as the perfect candidate for the job.
Hood has served in that post for the past 13 years.
Tim Hood has served in many other roles in public education including four years as the superintendent of the Earlham Community School District in Iowa, assistant superintendant in Puttnam County Missouri and four years as and elementary principal and teacher in the Lewis Central Community School District in Iowa.
He also brings years of financial and community involvement experience to his new post.
Tim Hood will officially take on his new role in early September.
