PIKE COUNTY, MO. -- One bridge is closing, and another is opening this week.

A couple of bridges will open along U.S. 54 between Bowling Green and Louisiana.

You are invited to a ribbon cutting on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 54 and Route UU.

Each bridge has been replaced with a new 44-foot wide bridge, and took a little more than a month and a half to complete the work.

Here's a traffic note for you if you plan to use Highway 79 in Missouri.

Starting at 8 Monday morning, 79 will be closed north of Foley in Lincoln County so a new bridge can be built.

Detours will be marked on Highway 47.

That section of road could be closed for up to 45 days.
