QUINCY, ILL. -- The Penny Denise Lewis Foundation honors a woman who dedicated much of her adult life to serving Quincy's youth.

She served as the director of the Frederick Ball Community Center.

The Penny Denise Lewis Foundation sponsored a Community Festival Saturday drawing in hundreds.

The festival serves as a fund raiser for Penny's foundation, which provides scholarships and programs for under privileged youth.

"She dedicated a lot of her time to serving under privileged children and we're just trying to carry on her tradition and serve children who need it. It's important to me because as a youth growing up in this community, I had a lot of support from my own community and I just want to pass on what was given to me," brother and Foundation Advisor Tracy Lewis said.

The foundation host several fundraisers throughout the year to benefit youth at the community center.
