QUINCY, ILL. -- Quincy Notre Dame High School announced its largest incoming class since 2005.

The announcement made Wednesday by first-year principal Mack McDowell also mark the first enrollment increase since 1999.

“A number of factors have made this possible. More tuition assistance is available through the QND Foundation; the launch of the 1:1 Learning initiative using iPads and the iPad cart; and students have access to experiences and service opportunities outside the classroom,” McDowell said. “The Shadow a Raider program has also been beneficial inviting students to spend a day with QND students on campus.”

The school saw 116 freshman students enrolled this year brining the current student population to 391.

Quincy Notre Dame High School also released its 2012 graduating class ACT composite scores. Test scores increased from 23.1 to 23.2.  The average state ACT composite score is 20.9.

Each student’s academic progress is monitored through a comparison of scores from the Explore Test, the PLAN Test, the Retired ACT exam, and finally through the ACT program exam. Students are able to recognize their own progress and accept responsibility for their education. Through hard work and test preparation, the Class of 2012 increased their ACT composite score.
