Arson is suspected in a fire that destroyed an abandoned home Thursday night in Griggsville.

Pike County, Ill. Sheriff Paul Petty said an investigation led deputies to juvenile suspects. Their names are not released because of their age.

The case is currently being reviewed by the Pike County State's Attorney.

Griggsville firefighters were called to the abandoned house at the corner of North Bickford and East Quincy Streets during the evening hours of August 23.

More than 20 firefighters responded from the Griggsville and North Pike Volunteer fire departments to find the home was completely engulfed in flames.

The home did not have any utilities at the time and was slated for demolition. Firefighters concentrated their efforts on keeping the fire from spreading to neighboring homes.
