CAMP POINT, ILL. -- It's a building that has stood the test of time for the past century.

And for the last few months, a Camp Point Illinois couple has brought the old Bailey Opera House back to life.

When you take a drive through the downtown area of Camp Point, you'll see several buildings that were built more then a hundred years ago. And one of those buildings is the Bailey Opera House.

But for Ted and Sara Lung, they decided to turn what was a building that had apartments into a building that features a full service restaurant.

"The anticipation has just been great. We've had people who have driven by to see the progress, come in to see the progress, peeked in the windows, so the community is very excited," Sara Lung said.

Throughout the first floor, Sara has hung photos of what Camp Point looked like back in the day. Ted and Sara were born and raised in the Camp Point area and Sara's family dates back to when Camp Point was founded. But they both say, it's something they wanted to give back to their community.

"The community is very excited. The community can't wait to get up here and see the building back the way it was back in 1893, a kind of walk back in the past. And just see the inside of the building and see all the pictures on the walls and talk about the history of Camp Point," Ted Lung said.

The restaurant will be open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with limited hours on Sunday. It has a capacity of 190 people and they hope to be able to serve not just the people from the Camp Point area, but also from the surrounding communities.
