Quincy man jailed after slashing

QUINCY, ILL. -- A Quincy man is in jail Sunday after he was charged in an early-morning knife attack.

Randall L. Mitchell, 23, remains lodged at the Adams County Jail on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Quincy police were dispatched about 1:40 a.m. to the 1400 block of North 3rd Street to investigate a reported stabbing.

Officers found Jeffrey Pollock, 22, of Quincy, with multiple slash wounds. He was treated and released from the Blessing Hospital emergency room. Police arrested Mitchell at 311 Cherry Street.
