QUINCY, ILL. -- The Quincy Public School District named former Moline School District Superintendent Cal Lee to serve as interim superintendent.

Lee, a graduate of Quincy College (now Quincy University) retired from the Moline district after 11 years as superintendent.

You can read more on the retirement of Dr. Lee from the Moline School District in the Quad City Times newspaper.

The board met Friday morning after a series of closed meetings to discuss the temporary hire.

Lee will be paid $600 a day which is the same amount the district paid Bud Martin.

Martin, who currently serves in that role, can only serve as interim superintendent for 100 days per school year in the State of Illinois.

The district will continue its search for a permanent replacement to former district leader Lonny Lemon. Lemon took a position at a Chicago-area district earlier this year.
