OTTUMWA, IOWA -- Ottumwa has been getting ready for Vice President Joe Biden's visit coming up Tuesday. But, he made an early appearance.

According to KTVO reporter Monisha Bruner, Vice President Joe Biden surprised the campaign volunteers at the Obama Headquarters in Ottumwa around 6 p.m. Monday.

When he first walked in, Mr. Biden greeted everyone and shook their hands. He then made a couple of phone calls.

One person didn't answer, so they have a nice voice message, but one couple answered and had a conversation with the Vice President.

Vice President Biden is scheduled to speak Tuesday morning at Ottumwa’s Bridge View Center. The rally starts at 10:45. Tickets are required for attendance and are available at the Organizing for America Offices of Ottumwa, Fairfield and Oskaloosa.
