CANTON, MO. -- In an effort to become more of an eco-tourism hot-spot, Canton, Missouri unveiled its new levee walk this weekend.

This addition is a part of a five-year plan. Other additions include an observatory along the Mississippi River and a controlled pond for bird watching.

The levee walk was funded through the Missouri Department of Transportation as well as a bed tax at local motels and hotels. The bed tax covers twenty percent of the $155,000 dollar investment, with MoDOT covering the remaining eighty percent.
