QUINCY, ILL. -- Investigators continue to look into the human remains found at the site of a Sunday night fire that damaged Salvage Lumber in Quincy.

Adams County Coroner Jim Keller has confirmed the body discovered in the rubble is that of an unidentified female. Right now she is being called a "Jane Doe."

So far Keller and other investigators have yet to determine the age of the female victim, her race or the exact cause of her death. A post mortem examination or autopsy will be conducted in Quincy Tuesday.

The Quincy Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact investigators at (217) 228-4470.

The Illinois State Fire Marshal's Office continues its investigation into the cause of the fire.

The business, at 219 Oak St., caught fire Sunday just before 8:30 p.m. Crews were called to the scene of heavy smoke, which escalated to a five-alarm fire. Click here for our original story.

Salvage Lumber is an antique wood restoration shop. Owner Rick Delaney watched as the fire gutted his cabinet shop in the rear of the building. He said the front portion of the building is used for office space. Delaney said he had not been in the building since Friday and does not have insurance on the shop.
