Fiery crash in Ralls County claims one life

The Ralls County Sheriff has confirmed to KHQA that a Jefferson City, Missouri man was killed in a fiery head on collision Monday afternoon in Ralls County.

According to Sheriff Paul Forney, around 3 p.m. Monday a vehicle, believed to be an SUV, and a semi truck appeared to have crashed head on, just south of the "Junction" on Highway 19.

The driver of the vehicle, 40-year-old Jason Wood, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ralls County Sheriff.

The driver of the semi truck was transported by helicopter, to an unnamed hospital.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is performing the crash reconstruction and the Ralls County Sheriff is conducting the death investigation.
