Pike County crash sends three children to hospital

PITTSFIELD, ILL. -- A two-vehicle crash in Pike County, Illinois Friday sent three children to the hospital.

The Pike County Sheriff's Department says Elizabeth Musgrave, 35, of Pittsfield, was traveling northbound on 345th St. at the intersection of 240th Ave. In a second car, Dawn Smith, 38, of Pittsfield, was traveling westbound on 240th Ave. toward the same intersection.

Musgrave continued through the intersection where her car collided with Smith's.

From Musgrave's car, three children, ages 9,7 and 20 months, were sent to Illini Community Hospital with moderate injuries. All were wearing their seat belt. Smith was also treated at the hospital for minor injuries.

The crash resulted in major damage to both cars. No charges were filed.
