We have more details surrounding that fatal shooting in Van Buren County, Iowa last week.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation has determined that Deputy Jon Tharp's actions were justified in the shooting death of Robert Michael Dooley.

As a result, no criminal charges will be filed.

The Van Buren sheriff's department received numerous calls about a man with a rifle, wearing a military uniform and walking along Highway 2 near Cantril, Iowa on October 16th.

When ordered to drop his weapon by deputies, the man reportedly pointed the rifle at them instead.

Deputy Tharp then fatally shot Dooley.
