A Halloween stroll through Quincy's Hickory Grove Subdivision will frighten the average trick-or-treater.

Property owner Connie Ward decorates her yard every year with scary movie characters. Chucky, Jason, Freddy Krueger ... you name the character, she's excited to have them hanging out in the yard.

But this year, someone came through and stole all the heads off of the scary characters she's so proud of.

"I know they are just Halloween masks, but I am totally heart broken. I have done this for years. I love to see the look on the kids faces when they come up to trick-or-treat," Ward said.

She just wants the masks returned so visitors get the full Halloween experience.

"This is my passion," she said. "I put a lot of time and effort into this. I've cried all day about it. I know to some people it's just a mask, but to me, it's my passion. The little kids are going to be so disappointed. If it was teenagers, I was a kid once, too, but you know, have mercy on me cause this is just heartbreaking for me."

To whomever took the masks ... please do the right thing and take them back. No questions will be asked.
