QUINCY, ILL. -- With only days before the nation goes to the polls, voters in Quincy and Adams County heard first hand from candidates in two important races in our area.

KHQA's Rajah Maples moderated a candidates' forum hosted by the  League of Women Voters of Adams County.

Candidates for Illinois' 47th District Senate race and for Adams County Circuit Clerk race addressed a standing room only crowd at the First Christian Church in Quincy.

The League of Women Voters has hosted events like this for years with two goals in mind, educating voters and encouraging them to get out and vote

League of Women Voters President Mary Ann Klein says, "We figure this is another way that people will become more intrigued to actually go to the polls and cast their vote because they'll know more about what they're doing."

The candidates also answered questions from the crowd.
