QUINCY, ILL. -- This holiday season the Quincy Police Department and the mayor hope you tie one on.

This is the 25th year of the Mothers Against Drunk Driving Project Red Ribbon campaign.

From now through January 1st, hopes are you'll see a lot of red ribbons on car antennas as a visual reminder to not drink and drive.

"I'm not saying don't celebrate. Have a good time. This Wednesday night is a big night for celebration. Celebrate, but don't drive after you do so," Police Chief Rob Copley said.

"Put a ribbon on your car as a reminder to you and everyone to make that right decision," MADD Chairman J.T. Dozier said.

You can get a free ribbon at City Hall, the Quincy Police Department, Adams County Sheriff's Office, and many local banks and credit unions.

Next week, all Quincy school kids will be sent home with a ribbon.
