QUINCY, ILL. -- The Quincy School Board had a full agenda on Tuesday night.

Several important issues were discussed, but before the meeting President Bill Daniels, Vice President Steve Krause and member Tom Dickerson all announced that after much consideration they would not be seeking re-election next April.

Daniels says for him, the time had come to step aside and give somebody else a chance to serve.

He says, "I've never regretted one day serving on the board. For me it's time to be done. I will have done this almost 12 years and I'd like to get back to business."

The board also approved a tentative levy that's a little more than 27 million dollars. The final levy will be adopted in December.

A new performance-based compensation plan for administrators was also adopted.

Daniels says it would be the first in the state.
