Kirksville man killed in late night accident
LEWIS COUNTY, MO. -- A Kirksville man died after being hit by another vehicle on Missouri 6 two miles west of Lewistown.
Cortez Robinson's vehicle was parked partially in the road Monday night around 9:45 with its hazard lights on when a second vehicle driven by Jessica Murphy of Labelle ran into it.
Murphy's vehicle struck the back of Cortez's car and then hit him. Cortez died at the scene.
His passenger Stephanie Toolate of Kirksville, who was also standing outside the vehicle, was also seriously injured after being hit.
She was taken to Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Jessica Murphy was taken to Blessing Hospital with moderate injuries.
