QUINCY, ILL. -- Dozens of area residents turned out for a candlelight vigil in Quincy Tuesday night to show support for the 26 victims of the Sandy Hook school shooting that happened last week.

It's one of many vigils taking place this week across the country after last Friday's tragedy in Newtown Connecticut.

The event, organized by Greg Haubrich, began at 7 p.m. at the fountain in Washington Park.
