QUINCY, ILL. -- One person has died in a house fire in Quincy.

The call came in Wednesday night just after 10 p.m. for a home at 422 Maiden Lane.

Adams County Coroner Jim Keller tells KHQA that Daniel Dietrich, 52, died in the fire.

The fire department says he was the only one there at the time.

"We had investigators who we called to the scene. Investigators from both the fire department and police department. They did an initial investigation and determined it'd be best to come back during daylight hours to conclude the investigation. So they got back on scene at about eight o'clock this morning. There's still working the incident right now, so there's nothing really to report at this time, because the investigation is ongoing," Quincy Fire Chief Joe Henning said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

KHQA will bring you new details as they are released.
