QUINCY, ILL. -- A Quincy child has been taken from a home after a meth lab bust on Quincy's North side.

West Central Illinois Task Force and the Illinois State Police Methamphetamine Response Team arrested Melissa Beldon in a home at 623 Oak after a search uncovered a shake-and-bake meth lab and methamphetamine manufacturing waste.

She faces four felony meth charges including aggravated unlawful participation in methamphetamine production, unlawful possession of methamphetamine precursor, methamphetamine manufacturing waste, and methamphetamine related child endangerment.  

Beldon is in the Adams County Jail.

The four-year-old child was at home at the time of the search.

The Department of Children and Family Services was contacted and will be initiating an investigation regarding child endangerment. Additional charges are pending.
