Everything is back to normal for residents in Kinderhook.

The village was under a boil order that left residents without water and forced a cancellation of school Monday.

Mayor A.J. Bradshaw said that the boil order has been lifted and the water is safe to drink.

Bill Bainter, the village operator for the water system, said crews began working on a main break Sunday evening.

A lack of proper tools forced the crew to stop working until the right equipment was there to use. Work resumed Monday and service was restored by noon.

Western School District Monday canceled classes Monday because of the break.
