MACOMB, ILL. -- The Macomb School District is nearing a decision on a new superintendent.

Board members are not expected to make a final decision on hiring a replacement for outgoing superintendent Alene Reuschel within the next seven to 10 days, according to one board member.

“The decision won't be made at (Monday's board) meeting,” school board member Matt Bierman said. “We're still finalizing a few things and we'll hold a special meeting.”

Reuschel announced last year that she will retire at the end of this school year.
