Macon, Mo. man found dead in burning car

MACON, MO. -- A Macon, Mo. man is dead after firefighters found him inside a burning car.

The incident happened shortly before 1 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22 when police were sent to a city parking lot in the 100 block of East Bourke Street.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and found the car's engine compartment engulfed in flames. Firefighters discovered that there was a man in the car.

The man, later identified as Jeff Taylor, age unknown, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Macon County Sheriff's Office doesn't suspect foul play. An autopsy should take between six and eight weeks to complete.
